DC Tournament: June 27 - 29, 2003 We are pleased to announce we hare holding this year's Underwater Hockey Nationals tournament. This year the tournament will be held the weekend of June 27-29, 2003. The tournament will take place at a world class facility. The pool is uniformly 8 feet deep and has a fast tile bottom identical to the bottom of Texas A&M pool where the Texas Open was held recently. There will be two playing surfaces. Travel arrangements should be easy as there are three area airports (IAD - Dulles, DCA - National, & BWI - Baltimore Washington International) to choose from if you wish to fly. Dulles is the closest - about 30 minutes from the pool, but it is also the most expensive. At National Airport (also called Regan National) prices range, but in case you are considering exploring DC, you should know that National is Metro-accessible (although the pool is not). Although it is a full hour and 15 minutes from the pool, BWI is the cheapest of the three. Notably, BWI is one of the national testing grounds for new airport security programs. As such it is usually overstaffed. If time is not an issue and the cost savings are considerable, you should consider flying into BWI and then carpooling with your or other teams. . . .
